RotterZwam produces oyster mushrooms on the waste of Rotterdam, in the waste of Rotterdam. In a former swimming pool in Rotterdam (Tropicana), RotterZwam has set up their business. Using the coffee waste from local coffee shops in Rotterdam, they produce oyster mushrooms.
After a succesfull crowdfunding, RotterZwam started developing their first product: A home grow kit. RotterZwam believes that it is strange to throw away your own nutrious coffee grounds if you can grow your own food on it!
“Anneke helped us to develop the packaging of a new product. Despite her youthful appearance, she has extensive experience to draw from and communicates well on different levels. I would warmly recommend her work. We will definitely involve her in future projects.”Siemen Cox – RotterZwam
The home grow kit provides a bucket with spawn (oyster mushroom seeds), that allows you to collect your coffee grounds at home and turn them into food at your own kitchen counter.
The instructions are printed with bio-ink on a recycled carton, attached to a plastic bucket -that has been saved from the plastic shredder.
The Growkit is currently available in Dutch, English, German, Norwegian, Danish and Islandic.
Local oyster mushroom farmers in The Netherlands have their own custom artwork on the growkit wrapper.
